The Christmas Emporium at John Lewis launched last month and the team at Cricut is very excited to be involved. In ten flagship stores across the country, Cricut has set up a personalisation station helping shoppers find the perfect Christmas gift! In each of the John Lewis Christmas Emporiums, the Cricut Crew are personalising bags, baubles, mugs and more. That’s as well as showing off the amazing range of Cricut Machines and heating tools.
We asked Helen, one of our wonderfully talented Cricut experts, to give us an insight into what it’s like working at the Christmas Emporium.
What do you do at the John Lewis Christmas Emporium?
At the John Lewis Christmas Emporium, we are spreading the Cricut Christmas joy! We are personalising all sorts of blanks for customers to buy as Christmas gifts or just as a little treat for themselves! The blanks available for personalisation include baubles, bottle bags, T-shirts, coasters, mini sewing kits, mugs, totes & cosmetic bags.
The personalisation is super quick! Customers can choose from a variety of different fonts, designs and coloured vinyl (the glittery ones are definitely my favourite)! We are also chatting ALL THINGS Cricut showcasing the Cricut Maker™ 3, Cricut Mug Press™ and EasyPress™ 2. We are demonstrating the machines for customers, explaining how each machine works using Design Space and answering any Cricut questions that customers may have.
Which John Lewis store do you work in?
I am based in John Lewis Southampton. Other Cricut stands can be found in Bluewater, Oxford Street, Trafford, Cribbs Causeway, Peter Jones, Cheadle, Kingston, Newcastle, and Milton Keynes.
What has been the most exciting thing for you about working at the Christmas Emporium?
It has been so exciting to work with customers to create special gifts for their loved ones. We have lots of examples of the finished products at the stand. This has been perfect for customers to use as inspiration for their purchases.
Customers have a variety of different coloured vinyl, fonts and embellishment to choose from. It’s great for ultimate personalisation as they can mix and match depending who will be receiving the gift.
I have also loved chatting to so many different customers about Cricut and what the machines can do. One customer, literally screamed when she saw me at the stand! She had been wanting to buy the Cricut Maker for a little while so she could personalise bits for her children and create her own wedding décor. She had been a little hesitant because she was unsure about how to use the machines and Cricut Design Space. After seeing the Cricut Maker 3 work its magic and me showing her how to navigate Design Space, she went away ready to purchase her own machine!
It is fabulous to have a huge range of machines for customers to see in person and ask any burning questions they may have. I have also met some existing Cricut makers too, which is fantastic as they are able to see and chat about the machines they haven’t seen before. Like the new Cricut Mug Press and Cricut Maker 3! This is SO exciting to me because I really am spreading my Cricut love and passion.
What are your favourite Items that can be personalised on the Cricut stand?
My absolute favourite personalised item has got to be the baubles! They are perfect for people of all ages and there are so many different embellishments available!
The plastic baubles are fillable too. I have been recommending that customers fill them with confetti or gems to make their gift that little bit more special. The ceramic coasters can also be used as baubles by gluing a loop of ribbon onto the back of them.
Why should shoppers visit the Cricut area of the Christmas Emporium at John Lewis?
We would absolutely love shoppers to stop by and check out our Cricut stand! Our friendly team are ready to sprinkle all the Cricut sparkle on a wide range of perfect gifts. Our team is so passionate and knowledgeable about the brand so can answer any questions customers may have about the machines, the software and the different types of materials each machine can use.
Is there anything else to add about the Cricut Crew?
I’d like to say a massive thank you to Kate and the Cricut Team for the opportunity to be a part of such an exciting project and of course for managing our teams. Every second has been an absolute dream come true and I never want it to end!
