With Easter just around the corner and lockdown restrictions easing, we’re looking forward to socialising together outdoors for the first time in a long while to celebrate. What’s not to get egg-cited about?

From an egg-stravagent egg hunt to an egg-stra special garden party, award-winning family blogger Sarah Christie, is already hopping into the Easter spirit with inspirational crafts and ideas on her blog

We asked Sarah for her top tips for making it a day to remember. Here she tells us how to create your own personalised party in the garden and how Cricut can help.

She says: “Personally I cannot wait to see family again for the Easter weekend. I’m hoping to make the reunion as special as possible. I’ve been on my Cricut machine making up a whole bunch of props, decorations and activities for everyone to enjoy!”

Here are Sarah’s top tips for creating an Easter party:

Create your very own Easter basket!

Easter egg hunts are all the rage now, so why not make a bespoke basket for each child taking part to collect their goodies from the garden? They’re a doddle to make. Just follow the instructions on this Cricut Design Space project and you’ll have a basket in no time.

Did someone say dairy-free eggs?

Or any allergen for that matter. It goes without saying that kids love chocolate. But you might want to consider if any of your guests have food allergies when buying the treats for your hunt. It’s always worth stocking up on a few dairy-free or gluten-free goodies, just in case.

Think about your Easter attire.

It’s not just the Easter bunny that can be dressed for the occasion. Why not kit your kids out in their very own Easter t-shirts?  There’s no need to be a fully-fledged seamstress when you have an EasyPress to hand! Apply customised designs to everyday T-shirts and sweaters with ease. Get your kids involved too by picking their favourite designs so you know they’ll love what they’re wearing come Easter Sunday.

Make beautiful bunny charms for straws

After hunting for eggs, the kids are bound to get thirsty. So why not serve them up a refreshing drink complete with its own little bunny straw? These gorgeous bunny charms take just minutes to create. Make sure to think sustainably too by using biodegradable straws. And I’m sure the grown-ups could put these to good use too.

Create an Easter table to remember.

If you’re having a meal outdoors with family for the first time, you can go to town decorating it for the special occasion. Opt for beautiful spring colours.  Think about a vase of flowers (from the garden or make your own). Or how about personalised name cards, Easter napkins and cute bunny and chick decorations? The limit is only your imagination. There are many inspiring Easter projects in Cricut Design Space, plus, you’ll be able to pack everything away to use again next year.

Plan for the weather

Remember we live in the UK, the weather may be against us. We can hope for sunny skies of course, but if there is a drizzle, you can still have fun in the rain. Cover your egg hunt signs in a plastic film or laminate them to make them waterproof. Or if you have one, pop up a gazebo to take shelter and still get together with family.

Whatever you get up to this Easter, we wish you a fun-filled weekend.
